In 2024 Sŵn will return with a bold new festival format and exciting changes to our programming. We’re also making our festival more accessible to the wider community by introducing payment plans, concession tickets, and more opportunities to get involved with the festival through our volunteer programme and a brand new apply to play scheme.
As well as the positive changes we’re implementing to the festival, this year Sŵn is a proud partner of the Cardiff Music City Festival; a three week-long celebration of innovative and accomplished music coming to Wales’ thriving capital city this September and October. Cardiff Music city Festival – which is supported by Welsh Government and Cardiff Council – promises three weeks of gigs, immersive happenings, residencies, installations and pop-ups, pushing the boundaries of music innovation, performance and tech.
A Brand New Festival Format
We’re excited to announce that this year for the first time in 5 years, all three days of Sŵn will be multi-venue. As we’re sure you’ll agree, we believe that the essence of what makes it exciting is the multi-venue experience.
On Thursday October 17th Sŵn will take over Womanby Street with 5 stages at Clwb Ifor Bach, Tiny Rebel, The Moon, and Fuel, with our wristband exchange located at Mad Dog Brewery Co.
On the Friday 18th and Saturday 19th of October the festival will expand outwards across Cardiff City Centre, with 4 extra stages being added at Tramshed, Jacobs Antiques Market, and Cornerstone.
Stage Partners
We’re thrilled to announce that this year we have partnered with DIY who will be taking over one of our stages and curating it’s lineup. But that’s not all, we’ve got other exciting stage partners to announce over the coming months.
Apply to play at Sŵn 2024
This year for the first time ever we’ll be introducing an apply to play scheme, where artists can submit their music for a chance to perform at Sŵn. We will be selecting 5 successful artists from the apply to play scheme to perform at this years festival. More information about this will be announced soon. To be notified about when applications open sign up to our mailinglist.
Payment Plans, Concession Tickets, & Delegate Tickets
This year we’ve introduced payment plans, so you can pay for your tickets in monthly instalments. Payments need to be made on the 1st of each month, and the final payment will be taken on August 1st. The earlier you book your tickets the cheaper the instalments will be. More information will be given at the check-out by our ticket provider Universe.
For the first time ever, this year we’ve also introduced concession tickets for those 23 years of age and under, and/or for anyone in further education regardless of age. These tickets start from as little as £35.
Another change being made to our ticket options this year is the introduction of delegate tickets.
Tickets go on general sale Monday April 8th at 10AM. For those of you signed up to our Mailinglist, exclusive pre-sale earlybird tickets are on sale now, where you can secure your 2024 tickets at the cheapest price available.
