Cerys Hafana shapes the landscape of their home of Machynlleth into beautiful compositions of traditional music. A talented triple harpist, they released their first album ‘Cwmwl’ in 2020. The follow-up, 2022’s ‘Edyf’, was shortlisted for the 2023 Welsh Music Prize and made The Guardian’s Top Ten Folk Albums 0f 2022 list. Creating songs that are wistful and melancholy, there’s plenty of beauty to be found within the sadness.
Hafana manages to translate the rolling hills, beautiful rivers and seaside of Wales into their music, with the ability to transport your mind to someplace elsewhere. It’s a powerfully moving effect.
We can’t wait to get fully engrossed in the sounds of Cerys Hafana at Sŵn Festival 2026. Their set is set to take people’s breath away.
