Like a dream unfolding in slow motion, the songs of Indian Queens have a languid, mesmeric quality. Formed in Hackney Wick, London, by guitarist sisters Jennifer and Katherine O’Neil, plus old friend Mat on drums, it makes perfect sense for the band’s music to be affiliated with Bella Union, the label set up by the Cocteau Twins’ Simon Raymonde.

Now on the Cool Thing label, newer songs like You Came Over Late show the band hitting a fine stride of dark shoegaze pop, all loose vocals, slow tempos and lush washes of sound.
