Hotel-Lux

From the same rowdy South London scene as Shame and Goat Girl, Hotel Lux are the grubby documentarians of the area, turning their lens on boozer life and violent reprobates via pubby, arty guitar rock. At their lighter end, something like The English Disease recalls a lairy Half Man Half Biscuit, but the dark heart of Hotel Lux are songs like Daddy and The Last Hangman, bruising excavations of society that build from simple sounds to dense rackets of noise and shouting.
