Brought together in Dublin city at the height of the pandemic, the quintet pecked away at their sound for a year and a half until they could play their first show. Four years on from that, they’ve become the crown jewel in Ireland’s proud Punk Scene. Gurriers’ music is not for the lighthearted; fueled by a range of anger towards the catholic church to nightclubs. Don’t be mistaken though, while anger is the driving force behind Gurriers, the band still take immense care in every layer of their sound with fantastic riffs married together with technical drumming all the while emulating those strong emotions. If you like standing still with your arms folded at the front, then maybe this isn’t the act for you as a fierce pit is sure to be created for these.
