London-based trio Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton of Bar Italia are in the most confident period of their career to date. Their most recent album ‘Some Like It Hot’ saw them embrace UK 00’s indie sounds in tandem with their typical alt-rock style. There was a bit of mystery surrounding the band earlier in their career as their music appeared online with little press coverage.

They took the interest of Reddit sleuths, and the band’s mystery was more to do with the fact they weren’t comfortable doing interviews yet. Now, they’ve grown into themselves more, and their wide-ranging, eclectic taste has seen them utilise shoegaze, grunge and even nu-metal in their sound too.

‘Some Like It Hot’ has songs made for leaping up and down to, with riffs ringing in your ears. Its songs were inspired by the nightlife and stories that ensue in London, highlighted by the gossipy single ‘Cowbella’.

One of the most intriguing bands around at the moment, Bar Italia can’t be pinned down for too long. Their set at Tramshed is set to be one of this year’s highlights.
