Mixing space-jamming slacker choruses, easy melodies and loose-limbed wig outs, Sports Team have made their name on the back of raucous live-performances; earning comparisons to The Velvet Underground and Pavement. Formed in Cambridge, the band moved to London in November, picking up shows with BBC Introducing, DIY presents and a tour dates with The OriellesTaking songwriting cues from HappynessPavement and Magic Potion; and their euphoric, wild-eyed live-show from mid-noughties punks Eddy Current Suppression Ring, they’re savage, sweet and raring to go. Sports Team are Alex Rice (Vocals)  Rob Knaggs (Guitar / Vocals) Al Greenwood (Drums) Jerry Cummins (Guitar) Oli Dewdney (Bass) and Ben Mack (Percussion).

‘Their brand of drawled slackerpop is enticing and has clearly been a factor in their building live reputation.’ – DIY Magazine
