Formed in the Snowdonia village of betws y Coed in 1997, Melys are singer Andrea Parker, guitarist Paul Adams and bass player Rich Eardley. Melys have released 4 studio albums, (Rumours and curses, Kamikaze, Casting Pearls and Life’s too short) and a European ‘best of’ album called Suikerspin. The band won critical acclaim and won top spot in the Radio One, John Peel festive 50 with their single Chinese Whispers. Having a special relationship with the late iconic DJ John Peel, they recorded approximately 11 Radio One sessions and outside broadcasts.

The band are to release a Radio One session’s album in November 2016 with tracks from both the John Peel and Huw Stevens shows. The band have also just finished recording new tracks which will be released in the coming months, the band’s first new material for 10 years since John Peel’s death.
