Singularly fascinating and gently uncompromising, the former Race Horses frontman is a rare and ever-surprising talent. Meilyr spend the last decade by firstly studying tuba at the Royal Academy of Music, dropping out in the third year, then going on to play bass with Gruff Rhys and Boom Bip’s Neon Neon, before working with Cate le Bon and then joining Euros Childs on the ‘Cousins’ project. After this point, a transformative trip to Rome led him to creating his debut album ‘2013’ – 12 songs in which joy and rapture are tempered by wit and humour, by jubilant pop melody and rock and roll muscularity.

Meilyr Jones will appear alongside Spring King and Crows as part of SŵnRise – the official opening night event for Sŵn Festival 2016 (Sŵn 10).
