Splitting their sets between acoustic, almost choral numbers and synth-driven pop, you could be forgiven for initially thinking Golden Fable conveyors of the uncomplicated and catchy. But duo Rebecca Palin and Tim McIver have depths to be plundered. Palin’s angelic voice is tethered to McIver’s words and you get the feeling the pair would be lost without each other. Ethereal yet grounded, think Goldfrapp and Bat for Lashes, distilled in the mountains of Snowdonia and bottled.
