“The bands melancholy sound is one that’s very current but don’t for one second think they’re a carbon copy” — Stereo Brain
Atterbury & Gibbz are a four piece band from the Caerphilly area, with the main goal to push the boundaries on what’s accepted in today’s music scene. Coming out of the Caerphilly’s version of the BRIT School, Lewis School, Pengam which has produced firm YPN fav’s and Forté Projects own Ofelia, Alex Stacey amongst others, the four piece are genuinely difficult to categorise. We can hear flavours of The 1975, Alt-J, Mikill Plane, Ghost Poet and they are genuinely trying to push the envelope further on what can be imagined as pop music. Their song ‘What’s Real?’ wouldn’t sit out of place on the Radio 1 playlist, 6 Music playlist or Beats 1, it oozes coolness and a deeply rich, layered and textured sound. The band have performed a handful of gigs with us and we just know they are going astonish at Swn Festival.
You can never predict what they’d release next, expect the unexpected!
